As we begin to be bombarded with the "dog days of summer", there seems to be less and less to do with your hair, as far as styles are concerned. Luckily, as trends today are evolving, we are seeing more and more styles that are extremely easy to achieve, and look great as well!
Knowing what to do and what not to do can take your mane from ridiculous to red-carpet, with just a few simple tricks. Some of the styles we're seeing in the fashion mags and on the runways involve LOTS of ponytails, undone buns, and lots of loose knots. These are all attainable with just a few tools, and products.
With the humidity getting unbearable, there are certain products that you can use that will help work with what you have, and not against it. Let's face it, if you have curl and frizz, and just can't afford some of the more expensive Keratin treatments, you're stuck with what nature gave you. One of my faves for the humid summer air is a sea salt spray. Many lines carry a texturizing spray with sea salt, and this will give you that beachy, slightly knotted look that is extremely popular right now. One thing you will want to stay away from is the oily pomades. These tend to get EXTREMELY oily and gross when hit with the humidity. Look for a lighter detailing creme, or pastes that give definition, but allow the hair to dry without looking greasy.
